Jacob Oram eying comeback into New Zealand cricket in ICC World Cup 2011

A successful comeback of Jacob Oram to his team after having injury problems. The experienced all-rounder had been struggling a lot with injury issues, which have haunted him throughout his career.

Oram had a knee injury and he had gone for surgery in September due to which he has been out of action for a long time. His team is currently struggling against India after losing both the Test and the One Day series against them. Oram would be hopeful to recover in time before the World Cup, which will be held in India in 2011.

Similarly to Oram, the pace ace of New Zealand Shane Bond had too many injury issues, which eventually forced the player to retire from international cricket. Bond had an abdominal strain after which he decided that he has had enough and he called it a day. The all-rounder Oram says that he is in the same frame of mind as the fast bowler Bond was in, which caused him to retire sooner than expected.

He may return to the team during the series against Pakistan in the Test or the One Day matches to gain some match practice and to find out where he stands at international level after making a comeback to the team.
