As if the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation corporators weren’t already getting enough freebies.
Mayor Shraddha Jadhav now wants free tickets for 227 corporators for the World Cup 2011 matches to be played at the newly renovated Wankhede Stadium.
Jadhav wrote to the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) on Monday on behalf of BMC’s elected representatives.
“I have requested the MCA officials that free entry passes for the World Cup matches to be held in Wankhede Stadium should be provided to all corporators, charimen of various committees of BMC, some senior officials and a few mediapersons,” she said.
The Mayor has also asked for a separate gallery which can accomodate about 300-350 people and free entry passes for the matches to be played on March 12, March 18 and the final which is scheduled for April 2.
All this when the corporators enjoy free parking in BMC’s pay-and-park lots, free first-class train passes and AC bus passes.
