Every match of the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup live on Fox Sports

As the top 14 cricket nations in the world converge on India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh for the 10th ICC Cricket World Cup, FOX SPORTS will reinforce its position as Australia’s Sports Leader, with LIVE and comprehensive coverage of every match over 42 days of intense competition.

Four-time champions Australia will once again start among the favourites for the 50-over tournament, which officially gets underway when co-hosts Bangladesh and India square off in Dhaka on Saturday.

The game of cricket is entwined in the culture on the sub-continent and the stifling conditions and cauldron-like venues make it one of the most daunting venues in the world for touring nations.

Co-hosts India and Sri Lanka will pose the biggest challenge to Australia’s trophy defence, while England and South Africa are well positioned to make a bid for a maiden World Cup crown.

FOX SPORTS will provide LIVE coverage of all 49 matches, with 30-minute preview shows before all Australia matches hosted in the Sydney studio by the FOX SPORTS cricket commentary team of Brendon Julian, Allan Border, Mark Waugh, Damien Fleming and Greg Blewett.

Beyond the match broadcasts, FOX SPORTS will deliver comprehensive online coverage of the ICC World Cup, with a section dedicated to the tournament at www.foxsports.com.au which will include Group tables and fixtures, LIVE scoring and stats, plus team profiles and photo galleries. FOX SPORTS has also launched the country’s largest World Cup Fantasy competition.

As the official online partner for the tournament, the FOX SPORTS website will also provide extended match highlights for each match. Exclusive video content will also be available on FOX SPORTS View – the new FOX SPORTS iPad App.

David Malone, FOX SPORTS CEO, said FOX SPORTS will provide cricket fans with the complete World Cup experience.

“From LIVE television coverage of every match to in-depth online and digital coverage, FOX SPORTS is the only destination for serious cricket fans during the ICC World Cup,” said Malone.

“The ICC World Cup remains the pinnacle event in world cricket and we are delighted to be able to extend to our subscribers a comprehensive multi-platform coverage of the tournament.”

FOX SPORTS coverage of the ICC World Cup is available to FOXTEL and AUSTAR subscribers.
