India vs Australia: Arch rivals fight it out to set date with Pak

A hard battle is on at the Sardar Patel Stadium in Motera today as bitter rivals India and Australia – also the world's top two one-day teams – fight it out for the semi-final spot in the 2011 World Cup.

It is advantage India at the moment with the team -- riding on a charged-up spin attack -- picking up 5 wickets before Australia could reach 200.

India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni lost the all-important toss in the do-or-die quarter-final but made his intention clear that spin would be his ace weapon when he opened the bowling with Southie off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin.

The gamble paid off very quickly as Ashwin drew first blood by picking up opener Shane Watson for 25 runs when Australia were 40.

Yuvraj Singh then dismissed the other opener Brad Haddin, who was looking dangerous at 53 off 62 balls. Later, Yuvraj picked up the wicket of vice captain Michael Clarke, who scored just 9 runs.
