The 'men in blue' would be seen in action in the world cup from February 19 onwards, but cricket fans have already started living cricket with official merchandise for ICC World Cup catering to their daily needs right from morning till night.
The Sach brand, which has been co-created by Future Group and Sachin Tendulkar, has brought in a special edition ICC Cricket World Cup-2011 gel toothpastes in three variants and glycerine bathing bar in two variants for fans who live and breathe cricket.
There is a wide range of bath, hand and gym towels with a cricket theme which are already in great demand in stores here. The merchandise would be available across all modern trade retail outlets like Lifestyle, Shoppers Stop, Pantaloon, Big Bazaar and Mom & Me.
Similarly, the official mascot of the event, Stumpy, has also become a craze amongst kids. Stumpy is the brainchild of ICC to honour the 10th year of ICC World Cup by creating a face for the tournament. Stumpy is available in various sizes and is priced between Rs 299 and Rs 2,499.
Stores are also offering specially designed 'cricket-ware'. The range includes sports tees, active dry tees, track pants, shorts, sweatshirt, caps, head bands and more starting from Rs 199.
The range is divided in four groups; the first range is for the true cricket lovers and has the event logo as the central theme. The second range is the graphic range, which is built around cricket inspired messages and graphics. The third range is the Stumpy range, which revolves around the official mascot of the ICC CWC-2011. And the fourth is the true-blue fan tee; also available are fan tees for all other 13 countries.
The world Cup range does not end here as there is theme-based bed linen, watches and other personal care products as well.
