ICC Cricket World Cup 2011, how South Africa will fare against West Indies

New Delhi: A win for West Indies is so illusive for the last few months that it will not be easy to see a win on Thursday when they take on South Africa at Ferozeshah Kotla Stadium in New Delhi. Still, since a world cup is a world cup match South Africa wont be in a mood to let up as one loss may affect in the tight situation.

Both teams are to play their inaugural match and must be keen to put their best. West Indies lost miserably by 0-5 to South Africa when they last faced each other in 2010. They lost to Sri Lanka 0-3 just before of the tournament but the West Indians would try their best to forget these losses.

Defeats are not the only thing they will have to put behind. Controversies over central contract and the skipper Darren Sammy not being the best player of the team are other things to forget and forge ahead.

West Indies have still brilliant individuals but their performance as a team is pathetic. Chris Gayle is such a destructive batsman that he can easily take the game away from any opponent. Kieron Pollard's hard hitting can demolish any attack. Ramnaresh Sarwan and Shivnaraine Chanderpaul are experienced enough to dig out the team from any position. The Bravo brothers-Dwayne and Darren are also highly rated. The question is when they will click as a team. A Pakistan like problem? Probably.

On the other hand anybody can easily say that apart from complacency, South Africa has everything in their fever. Hashim Amla is tremendous form. Jaques Kallis starred in South Africa's 3-2 series win over India. A B de Villiers and JP Duminy can easily steady the innings. And who can question the ability and form of the skipper Graeme Smith who most probably is playing the last ODI tournament.

Dayle Styen. Morne Morkel and Lonwabo Tsotsobe can easily test the fragile batting line up of West Indies.

At the end one quote. According to Chris Gayle 'All teams are beatable'. One only needs to get a sniff and capitalize on it.
